Ultimate adventure: Wanderlust's top 100 travel experiences

Tuesday, 2 August 2011 10:37 AM

Even the most experienced traveller can find adventure ideas for the Wanderlust Top 100 Travel Experiences. The list was drawn up with the help of Wanderlust readers and is available to browse in their August/September edition and online.

Lyn Hughes, editor in chief at Wanderlust, said: “The Top 100 makes for a brilliant traveller’s ticklist - I’ve been fortunate to experience 51 out of this 100 and in September I’ll nudge up to 52 when I visit the temples of Bagan in Burma.”

The top 10 experiences were cruising the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador; meeting mountain gorillas, Rwanda/Uganda; arriving in Timbuktu, Mali; learning about the lemurs, Madagascar and snorkelling with manta rays in Bora Bora, Polynesia.

Or why not head to Iguaçu Falls, Argentina/Brazil; walk to the summit of Stromboli, Italy; visit Antarctica; cross the Salar de Uyuni salt flats, Bolivia; or head to Shibam, Yemen.
