Visit Living Legend Village for a day out in Jersey

Wednesday, 25 January 2012 2:04 PM

If you are planning a trip to the Channel Islands, you are probably wondering what to do in Jersey.

Should this is the case, look no further than the Living Legend Village in St Peter, where there are a host of attractions the whole family can enjoy.

Spread over nine acres, the complex is an incredibly fun place to spend a day or even two. Indeed, if you are on Jersey holidays with your children, you will all be well catered for.

First stop is the Jersey Experience - an exciting attraction that helps bring the history of the island to life. The interactive show has won awards for its special effects and stars many favourite actors, such as Brian Blessed, Tony Robinson and Samantha Janus.

You will be whisked away on an underwater adventure by Captain Nemo, before being invited to meet the reincarnation of Helier - the patron saint of Jersey and the man who gave the island's capital its name. Following this, you will be taken through some of the rockiest periods in its history, including the Battle of Jersey and the years locals spent living under Nazi occupation.

Once the show has wrapped up, you will have certainly gained an insight into your holiday destination's past. Yet this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the many attractions here.

Next, you may wish to head to the adventure golf course. This promises a more exhilarating game than your usual crazy golf course, as it is spread over 3 acres and consists of two 18-hole courses.

You can play for multi-level holes, over bridges and past a water wheel as you battle to be the king of the green.

All this may see you work up an appetite, so next make your way to the Jersey Kitchen Restaurant, where you can enjoy everything from a hot meal to a cup of tea and slice of cake.

Alternatively, you can treat the kids to a trip to the Terrace Creperie for one of the French-style pancakes, which come with a choice of fillings, or check out the Jersey Fudge Kitchen. A further choice is the Courtyard Marquee, where there will also be free live entertainment for you to enjoy.

Next, you may wish to indulge your thirst for adventure by heading to Jersey Karting, so you can experience the thrill of racing at speeds of up to 30 or 35 mph around the track. You kids are sure to love watching you race on this challenging circuit.

However, if you are after a more laidback activity you can check out the Craft and Shopping Village, which is the ideal place to go if you want to pick up a souvenir or two of your stay, or some gifts for friends and family back home.

This is among the largest gift retailers of its kind in Jersey and you will be able to spend time browsing the ceramics, glassware, leather and lace items for sale, while you could also treat your kids to one of the toys.

There are also some delicious preserves for sale that may be ideal if you are staying in self-catering accommodation or want something to put in a picnic lunch during the rest of your stay, experiencing the many attractions in Jersey.

Your trip to the Living Legend Village is sure to be a real high point of your holiday.
