A night on the Great Barrier Reef

Monday, 13 December 2010 7:42 PM

The second you hear ‘Great Barrier Reef’ most people will probably think diving and amazing underwater experiences, and not a floating hotel.

But that’s all going to change now. Fantesa Adventure Cruising has launched a ‘Reefsleep’ package taking travellers to the heart of the famous reef.

Included in the adventurous package is a two-night’s stay at Hamilton Island, but most importantly, the unrivalled experience of sleeping on the Fantesa Reefworld pontoon. Situated in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, the pontoon transforms into a private floating hotel at night.

But that’s not all. The Reefworld pontoon also holds a range of exciting activities during the day, including semi-submersible tours and an underwater viewing chamber.

And of course, no-one comes to the Great Barrier Reef without exploring the fascinating underwater world with a snorkel. The adventure company offers guided snorkelling safaris and scuba diving.

The Hamilton Island and Reefworld adventure starts from AUS$960 (£603) to AUS$1,220 (£767) per person.
