Summer skiing down under
As most European ski resorts are coming to the end of this year’s ski season, resorts in Australia and New Zealand are just getting ready for the opening of the ski season down under. And QantasLink is getting ready too.
The airline has announced that it will be operating a 2011 ski season service between Sydney and Mt Hotham from 24 June to 11 September, making it easier for skiers and boarders to reach the popular ski destination.
Qantas Executive Manager Regional Airlines Group, Mr Narendra Kumar, said the airline would provide 114 flights on the route over the period, as well as an additional 300 seats, linking Sydney directly with one of Australia's most popular Alpine regions.
‘Victoria's skifields are among the best in Australia, and QantasLink’s direct flights will again make Hotham Alpine Resort the most accessible ski resort in Australia...,’ Mr Kumar said.
‘Even international visitors will have easy access to Victoria’s High Country via Qantas’ international network.’
For serious ski enthusiasts who can’t wait until next winter’s European ski season, a trip down under is a great way to enjoy some great summer skiing.
