If you're looking to take part in some exciting winter sport activities, why not head to Europe for a ski tour? Of course, you may be tempted to hit the slopes here in the UK, but with the famously unpredictable weather you might not always get the chance to go skiing. Go to the continent, however, and you needn't worry about this.

By going on a Christmas ski tour to Europe, you will have the chance to test your skills in some of the world's leading resorts where fantastic skiing and snowboarding conditions are guaranteed for the entire winter.

This is certainly the case if you choose to head to Borovets in Bulgaria. As the biggest winter sport resort in eastern Europe and with permanent snow cover from November to May, this is the ideal place for an active break over the festive period.

Here, you will find more than 58 km of snow-sure pistes and with runs suitable for skiers of all ability levels you'll soon be able to have fun carving it up on the slopes, regardless of how much experience you have.

If you are a beginner, it's a good idea to take lessons with the English-speaking instructors who will be able to guide you through the basics. Borovets is equally well-suited to more advanced skiers who are looking for a challenge, with cross-country and biathlon tracks located close by, as well as the opportunity to head off-piste.

However, there is much more to do at Borovets than just amazing skiing and snowboarding facilities, as the resort also has an amazing apres ski scene. This includes a spa and numerous restaurants that serve both international and Bulgarian cuisine.

After a day on the slopes, why not check out some of the lively bars and clubs in the evening? Here you'll be able to dance into the small hours and the party atmosphere is an equal match for any festivals in Europe you may have been to.

Away from the resort, you can also visit the Carska Bistrica palace or the Rila Monastery for the afternoon. Both of these amazing landmarks are sure to make for an exciting daytrip.

With fantastic winter sports and apres ski fun in abundance, you can be sure that a Christmas ski tour in Europe is a great way to spend the festive season.
